Our Top 9 Craft Blogs for Kids

Our Top 9 Craft Blogs for Kids

Here at TimeTokens HQ we love a bit of craft. To give you inspiration for half term, Valentine's and all the way through to Easter, we've put together a list of some of the best blogs for art and craft inspiration.  Lots of great excuses to load up the glue gun, get out the glitter and get messy with our offspring.

1  Mum in the Mad House

MITMH has it all. Need a greetings card and have a child that loves colouring-in? Then embrace the joy of free printables here.  In fact there is a whole section dedicated to homemade cards. Make some DIY tie-dye gift wrap and you’ve got yourself a gift combo that no-ones Granny can resist.

2 Red Ted Art

Lots of fun ideas, there’s a brilliant video which shows you the whole collection definitely worth a watch - i’m going to give the egg cup cosy a go - it would make me happy to see my boiled egg wearing a little bobble hat in the morning.

3  Fun Craft kids

Fun Craft Kids has a million and one ideas to inspire screen-free time. They have done a google search for us and put together an epic collection of crafts. We really love the mix of art and nature in the garden section...nature weaving, mini garden pools and heart painted stones. Because our rock collection is out of control and everyone needs a hand-painted paperweight for Valentines – right?

4 The Imagination Tree

This Early Years teacher and mum of 4 really knows her arts and crafts. Combining literacy with art is easy and fun with a monster slime writing tray!  Activities are organised by age beginning with baby through school age kids so the whole family can get arty.

Throughout this February they are also spreading
kindness with their ‘kind words challenge.’ #kindwordschallenge

5 Hello Wonderful

Click on this link and you really will say ‘hello wonderful.’ Visually beautiful and brimming with ideas. Mix art and science with a painted lantern or freeze a bubble (my boys loved that). Go glitter crazy with confetti art and if all that art makes your kids hungry there are plenty of recipes here also, Greek Yoghurt Berry Ice-cream Cone anyone?

6  Little button Diaries

Just another reason to love Brighton! Two mummies from Brighton beautifully guide us through some awesome crafting. Think pipe cleaner necklaces & paper plate desk tidies. If like us, you love a bit of Fimo Clay the mini clay badges would make a very special Valentines pressie...i’ll have to drop my boys some hints!

7  Tinkerlab

Rachelle is arts & crafts crazy and has some really inspiring ideas, You can sign up for a free 7 day family art challenge which looks great.

8   Artful Parent

If like me you are fed up with seeing old toys unused and loved, they have a brilliant idea for using old Magformers as mini photo frames and an exhaustive list of 20 things you can make and do with a brown cardboard box.

9  Happy Hooligans

Wow these guys can even show you how to transform old dried out markers into  homemade liquid watercolours - looks like a little bit too much like hard work to me but i bet the children would it! Lots of fun ideas for younger children, especially outdoor games.

We'd love to see how you get on - so please share your ideas and your great results!
