9 Top Toys for 5-10 year olds

9 Top Toys for 5-10 year olds

So it's half way through half term. Wondering how to keep your little darlings entertained for the last few days? The TimeTokens team has put together an ultimate list of our favourite toys to help narrow the choice. If you have any other suggestions - we'd love to hear them.

1.  The Rocket Stomper

Every family needs on of these bad boys.  Loads of fun, no batteries or fuel required and great to get all ages outside. You'll be amazed as the rocket zooms up to 200 ft into the air! For Ages 6+.  Buy from Fat Brain Toys

2.  Blockus

Fun strategy game and a real bonus for anyone with great spacial awareness.  Played with 2-4 players, very simple to pick up and then a life time to master.  The only rule is you have to place your piece on a corner.  8+ Available to buy from The Game Guru

3.  The Mover

This has to be one of the coolest toys out there. Get kids moving, building and coding with this awesome gadget that reacts to movement with light and can be coded in infinite ways.  Ages: 8+  Buy from Technology Will Save Us

4.  Quirkle

Love this brilliant game.  It's won award after award after award and is so much fun to play. It's quick-to-learn and requires tactical thinking and well-thought out strategy.  Not so good if you're colour blind.  6+ from Bright Minds

 5.  SKLZ Star Kick Trainer Football Training Aid

This is one of Harry's favourites.  He spends hours outside kicking the ball as hard as he wants and it comes straight back - also avoids broken windows which is a big bonus in my book.  8+ Available from most sports retailers

6. Doodler Start Essentials Pen Set

Now I have to confess i haven't actually used one of these but it looks like so much fun.  The special 3D printing pen melts plastic that cools and hardens rapidly, getting kids to literally draw in the air.   8+ from A MIghty Girl

7. Anki Overdrive

My boys spend hour after hour playing this high-tech version of Scalextric.  Each Supercar is a self-aware robot, driven by A.I. with deadly strategy.  Customise weapons. Swap out cars. Build new tracks. It’s easy to pick up, and nearly impossible to put down.  7+ from Anki Overdrive

8. Magformers LED Lighted Set

Great for younger children to build and get creative. They can make 3D models such as space ships, diamonds, stars, houses, or a camera, then bring them to life using the LED light.  5+ from Fundamentally Children

9. Kinetic Sand

This sand is such a clever idea, so tactile and therapeutic to play with I wish there was an adult version!  Fun to mould, creative and easy to pack away.  Being able to watch sandcastles fall in slow motion is awesome!  Any age!  Buy from Wicked Uncle

That's all folks! Have a great rest of half term and happy playing.  Please do let us know what your must-have toys are, we'd love to know.
